How to reach the Laboratory

Bologna is one of the largest national highways and railways nodes. It is easily reachable by air, train and car.

By air: daily connected with major Italian and European cities and some intercontinental flights, check "G. Marconi" Airport website.

By train: international, national and local trains everyday, check Trenitalia website.

By car: directly linked by A1, A14 and A13 highways to Milan (200 km), Florence (100 km), Padua (100 km), Venice (140 km), Verona (140 km), Rimini (100 km), Pescara (350 km), check Autostrade website, and crossed by State Route 9 Via Emilia (east-west), built by Romans, and by State Route 64 Porrettana (south-north).

To reach the Laboratory of Immunology in Via San Giacomo 12:

• by bus from the airport and from the Central Railway Station:

  • from the airport take the Aerobus (tickets onboard, around 5 €)

  • then

  • get down to the Central Railway Station, take bus n. 36 from the Station square bus stops (get the ticket in newsstands or tobacconists; some buses have tickets onboard machines, 1 €) or bus n. 37 from Viale Pietramellara (in front of the Station), for both get down in Via Irnerio / Porta San Donato bus stop; walk right on for Via Zamboni (the heart of Bologna University) then left for Via San Giacomo;

  • or, again from the Central Railway Station, take bus n. 32 from Viale Pietramellara (in front of the Station) and get down in Viale Filopanti / Porta San Donato, walk for Via San Giacomo;

  • consider that the Aerobus stops in Via Indipendenza / San Pietro too, before the Central Railway Station, so from there if you have no heavy luggage you can choose to walk through Via Rizzoli, Via Zamboni and then Via San Giacomo (less than 1 km);

   

• by taxi from the airport to the Lab you will pay around 30 €, from the Station you could pay 10 - 15 €.
